  • For the first time in the Inner Wheel History of 323 conducted a joint installation of 25 clubs together Conducted a Mega Artificial Limb camp at Karaikudi jointly with Inner Wheel District 321, where 100 limbs were provided. Homage paid to Tamil Nadu martyr of Kargil at Marina beach and donations given to their families along with Rotary District 3230 on the Independence day.
  • Special prayers - Kuthuvilakku Pooja at Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Temple for Eradication of Polio by Inner Wheel members of 323. Service through celebration continuously every year. “Mazhalai Oli” Diwali celebration for 500 underprivileged, handicapped and orphan children. This celebration is happening for the past 13 years till today.
  • Blood alliance - Seminar with University of Madras and Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Conducted an International Chairmen Meet where 530 delegates participated. Delegates from Countries like Germany, Canada, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia etc. plus 15 districts at National level participated.
  • Mega blood Donation Camp at Government Arts College, Ponneri at Tiruppalayam Village. Students of NSS donated 100 units of blood and also at Dr. Ambedkar Government Arts College, Vysarpadi, where 100 units of blood donated by students.

Born on 10th May, is a B.B.A., from Madras University. Happily married to Mr. Sv.Rm. RAMANATHAN, popularly known as Abirami Ramanathan, holding various posts in very many Associations. Blessed with two Children. Daughter Meenakshi (A national Shooter with 9 Golds in National Shooting Championship to her credit) is married to an Industrialist. Son R. Sivalingam, M.B.A., at Hariot and Watt University at Edinburgh. Proud Grandmother of two cute grand-children.

  • Inner Wheel is the oldest and the largest womens organization in the World for social service with head quarters in Manchester UK. There are more than 100,000 members Internationally in 27 countries.
  • Joined the Inner Wheel Club of Madras Central as charter member and became the I.S.O. (International Service Organiser) of the Inner Wheel Club of Madras Central during the year 1989-90. Won the “Best I.S.O. Award” of the Inner Wheel District 323.
  • Was the Treasurer of the Inner Wheel Club of Madras Central during the year 1990-91.
  • Was the President of the Inner Wheel Club of Madras Central during the period 1991-92 and bagged the “Best Club Award”and the Attendance Award for the year. Also built a Classroom for a panchayat school from her own charitable trust. Successfully conducted many projects to help the downtrodden, also wrote and brought out a cookery book for the members of Inner Wheel.
  • Was the Conference Chairman for the Inner Wheel District Conference in the year 1992.
    Was the District I.S.O. (International Service Organiser) of Inner Wheel District 323 and successfully conducted an International I.S.O. Meet the first in India, wherein more than 200 delegates from countries like Malaysia, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, Mauritius and all over India participated and was chaired by the President of the International Inner Wheel. This event was reported, recognised and appreciated world wide during the year 1993-94, and was published in International Inner Wheel Newsletter.
  • Was the District Treasurer of the Inner Wheel District 323 during the year 1995-96 and conducted the unique Seminar on Banking.

  • For the third year built Nallammai Ramanathan Kalyana Mandapam at a cost of around Rs. One Crore and given free of any charges to conduct marriages including vessels, furnitures etc.
  • Successfully runs a hospital mainly for the downtrodden in Maraimalai Nagar, the suburb of Chennai through Rotary Club of Maraimalai Nagar
  • Donates liberally for temples, education, health and marriages. Has Built various schools, and hospitals
  • Donated Rs. 2.5 Lakhs to build and equip a classroom at Karpagavalli Bala Patasala, a 200 year old school at Mylapore through Lions Club of Teynampet
  • Built and donated a building for an Elementary School at Pulankurichi Village, Sivagangai District with 6 class rooms
  • Built and donated an old age Education Centre at Perambur at a cost of Rs. 1 Lakh Donated Computers worth to Rs. 50,000/- to the above centre
  • Participated in the building of an Assembly Hall cum Laboratory for the Gangadeeswarar Koil Corporation Higher Secondary School by donating Rs.2.5 Lakhs in the Namakku Naame Scheme
  • Supports the down-trodden by issuing scholarships every year. Helps the down-trodden by supporting marriages

  • Running a subsidised Hygienic Canteen for the old and the villagers of Pulankurichi Village. They also enjoy free facilities as TV, News Papers etc.
  • Founder Trustee and donor to Rotary Club of Madras Central, TTK, VHS Blood Bank, which is a monument today During the year 1998-1999 conducted a Star Cricket Match at M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. Out of the funds raised from this about Rs.10 Lakhs was donated to Corporation of Madras and Rs.10 Lakhs to Rotary Foundation.
